kitchen re purpose ~ can you smell the coffee

OK girlfriends and boyfriends ~ this is my new favorite part of the kitchen.
My new coffee bar / station
Can you not smell the coffee where you are. LoVe IT.
The cupboard was made to house the microwave on top and then pull out doors on the bottom for the kitchen garbage. It sits a tad bit taller then a normal counter top to fit everything, but that just adds to the character. The counter top, again is the re purposed wood I rescued from the burn pile.

My friend Nancy, who co-hosted the open house on Saturday.
Nancy poured coffee all morning and wine all afternoon ~ luckily we could indulge ourselves. =)
At times we were so busy.... I couldn't have done it without her.
Again, Thank you Nanc

the window makes a great place to house some of my M's

(...thanks barn House Boys for some of my treasures)

The vintage milk bottle crate is from England.
The cups - white, my favorite, are hung with metal curtain clips

I have numbers scattered everywhere throughout the house. My oldest son was born in 1985 and my baby in 1990.

a closer glimpse of the counter top

.... and the Big Dog Fridge.
The Big Dog is the reason I needed the contractor and why I needed to rip the kitchen apart. I have coveted him for quite some time, and when I could finally afford him, I realized he would not fit!! The mess and the distress is over AND I Love the Big Dog Fridge... I don't know how I ever lived without it.
Sounds like rain and chilly weather here this weekend. There is something to say about a blanket, the couch, a good book and a cup of coffee ~ priceless.
later =) L

I'm drooling over your kitchen. Love it! That fridge is awesome, but mine wouldn't look so presentable on the inside. Hope you had a great Open House.

I love the coffee station! I have not seen anything like it in a home, kudos to you. Your kitchen design really gave me some ideas for my own and the fridge is simply stellar:) ~Syd and Harper

Mrs. Miller...your kitchen is extraordinary! I am loving the pictures! The ceiling is cool, the table/island, lights, the finish on your cream doors (cool) FRIDGE, coffee station, etc., etc.! I really like the color of your walls and the cream and blacks go so well with it. Good job but of course I am NOT surprised in the least bit. Enjoy! From, Mrs. Miller (HA)

OMG Lori, where in the world did you find that frig! I'm loving it! I have been wanting to change to stainless but don't like how some appliances have paint instead of stainless on the sides! And i love that there is glass in the door so you can see in there! I'm in love! I don't even think that thing would fit through the door of my house! Oh, I almost forgot I love the coffe station as well! Off course I think coffee should be a food group!

Layer it on. Change it up.

Time for a refresh. Have you ever looked at an area in your house and thought I am done looking at that mess.   Or maybe it's just time...
