oh Christmas tree

The weekend is here and it is Christmas Eve.
I am so excited to get together with family tonight, but first I must head over to the Barn for all the last minute shoppers.

I promised you the Christmas trees before Christmas.....
these shots should keep you busy for awhile

my sweet skinny guy nestled in the corner dressed in metal, placed in a vintage bucket and surrounded by architectural finds

Love my collection of posts.... they were a score from my friend Jane

... anything zinc or metal that I could find went on this guy.  The garland is cut up vintage book pages..... my theme this year at the barn instead of snow.  I thought it only fitting to carry it over at home.

Moving on to my main tree.
He is surrounded by a forest of birch and various vintage finds, back lit with an old funnel light and adorned with my favorite ornaments, clocks and street signs.
He rests in the old canvas mail trolley.

Up top, on my favorite piece of furniture, is a little white vignette with some large birch logs for a back drop.

way up top where my sweet Bella can not reach...
oh yeah, she is my Christmas nightmare... the garland on the stairs has been shredded for weeks now, many ornaments broken....I told you already about the eaten baby shoes... :-(
AND just two nights ago the vintage cabinet that sits in my entry, I posted pics earlier with the sparkly tree with the baby shoes, angel, candelabra.... well, the whole cabinet came down when she skidded into it at full blast.... I told you my Christmas nightmare.

... back to vintage love, peace and serenity

I had one gal on the home tour ask how much the entire tree and all accoutrement's would go for... the vintage street sign .... solid wood.... sent things over board and over budget.

Last but not least, my red corner...

another precious, we-little fella, blessing me with fallen needles on a daily basis

I clumped red balls into small groupings and sprinkled a few more at the base and that was that...

Peace to everyone.

Merry Christmas ~ Lori

...oh, and don't worry, I love my sweet Bella no matter how much she tests me

I love the red. Very pretty.

I know how you feel about the dog destroying everything. My boxer did the same thing...unraveled the ribbon off the tree..I busted her with it in her mouth running in circles around the tree. Broke sixteen red ornaments. Just having herself a good ole time. Honestly, it was kinda funny, so after yelling at her I started laughing. Her big brown eyes gets me every time. Oh well, a good excuse to buy more ornaments right. Have a very Merry Christmas!

You are one creative woman! :-) Your tree is so much fun, and I LOVE the PEACE with the letters inside and out of the frame. so clever!

Layer it on. Change it up.

Time for a refresh. Have you ever looked at an area in your house and thought I am done looking at that mess.   Or maybe it's just time...
