we're girls...we must accessorize

Accessorize is a must for us girls and for some boys also.
When do the lines blur between a want... a need... a must have...An Addiction !
I posted last Friday some new jewels just in at the Barn.

Today I thought I would show a look ... peek... a glimpse ...
of MY Addiction with jewels.

It was once a clean, layed out neatly, jewelry drawer in my closet.

That soon over flowed and I brought things outside the closet.

Don't get me wrong, I love the vintage screen I found to hang my necklaces.
In fact, I showed the screen this way at the Barn and soon sold all of the vintage screens.
However, in the beginning, each hook held only one necklace. Now there are three, four and sometimes five necklaces on each hook..... yikes.
But wait....

many layers of fun

I made this one to sell but could not part with it...
the perfectly painted key hole and the little purse hanging from the bottom
")

my feather necklace....LOVE

no words needed here...
this is four different necklaces...

then things spilled out onto my dressing table....
it started with the ole'... let it fall when I'm too tired to put things away..
... it then turned into... well, I'll probably wear it tomorrow so I'll just leave things here..
... and then... where would I put this stuff anyway... there is no more room!

seriously, I didn't stage this....this is what it looked like this morning when I grabbed my camera... addiction, a need, a want...??? I know this would drive most people crazy... this mess... but I kind of like it. It's like a treasure hunt every morning...

new things keep coming into the Barn....

and I only order what I like...

so a big part of it comes home....

some are artist made with vintage finds that I acquire when I'm out shopping

with layering being the in thing, you really do need many necklaces...
or so I tell myself...
everyone has this many...

this one is one of my new favorites...

Now you know one of my secrets...
I have too much for neat storage...
I can not pass on something I like / love / want
And it is not my fault...
I'm a girl after all...and we must accessorize.

Bejeweled

Bejeweled ...
I'm not sure if that is even a word, but I was digging the sound of it.
Bejeweled\ be-jeweled\ to be adorned in jewelry.
?
that's my Webster definition.

I had mentioned in a earlier post that I was revamping my jewelry area. I am still under construction; however, the jewels are coming in, so the show must go on.  I need to get my act together, but it has been so freaking cold that I am delaying digging my table out of the garage and hauling it up to the Barn.  Soon.
For now I will show you what fun goodies have arrived at the Barn this week.

oh my Goodness

Monday. Monday.
I can't even begin to tell you what is going on outside here.
So I will not...we will forget all about the snow and wind and ice...
...we will !!

I didn't get my photos ready from the Barn this weekend, damn.... I hate being behind schedule.

So, I have switched my little brain over and have gone to PLAN B :
I thought I would share with you a wonderful, gorgeous, fabulous - I could go on and on but I think you are all with me.. little photo shoot I did for a recent project.

ooh...aah...

I grabbed some favorites of mine that were like colors but contrasting materials
metal
paper
wood
glass
lovelovelove

oh my Goodness.

it is my son's favorite saying "oh my Goodness"
I have started saying it...  oh my Goodness... my sister heard it a ton when we were in Atlanta.
It's kind of catchy.

Oh MY GOODNESS

the paint is so perfect

the metal flower is center stage but doesn't take over the importance or the other pieces.

my favorite is always paper
vintage books, raw - under glass... say no more

Plan B worked out pretty good... maybe I'll try more of the same later this week.

Layer it on. Change it up.

Time for a refresh. Have you ever looked at an area in your house and thought I am done looking at that mess.   Or maybe it's just time...
