Old Parts

Remember when you could find old hardware at every sale you went to.

Bowls and bowls full of knobs...metal, painted and chippy and glass knobs overflowing. Those were the days !! Now you have to search high and low for the old hardware and then when you find it - It is over the top Expensive. Most are worth the price if it is the finishing touch for your project, but for me, trying to by for the shop - No Good.

So when you see some at the Barn, just know that I am displaying it proudly because I only have a few precious pieces. And if you are the lucky one that purchases it - know that it has only been marked up a few bucks and it is hard for me to let it go.  Now - on the other hand, if you are reading this, and you have an old box of parts and knobs laying around - I would love to take it off your hands !! Just give me a call !! We will be friends forever

Orange is the new Black

Setting up the table is always fun with a new color.
I have chosen to salute Orange today.

Orange is very fresh and Romantic for summer.
This industrial storage drawer unit is the Queen on the stage.
Staged with greens and pops of yellow the Orange is perfect to welcome in the Spring.

Throw in a fun striped tote bag and some sassy orange flowers on a deconstructed chair...

My mason jars are also perfect if you have a small space that you need a hint of color in.

The fork canvas is back in stock...2 sizes available...
...or I should say, 2 sizes Left in stock.

Every drawer has these fun compartments.
Very heavy industrial metal !

We're closed today ( Monday ) but come say Hi on Tuesday !!

say hello to the European line

say hello to arabesque…
Think ballet tights, dusty pink tutus and pale tea roses and you’ll have a good idea what to expect from Arabesque.  This decidedly feminine color is also surprisingly neutral, making this pink one that goes beyond nurseries.

say hello to Bergere…
This smokey blue gray inspired by the painted frames of a pair of antique French Bergere chairs.  This blue is more subtle than the other blues in our line, but still makes a statement.

say hello to Layla’s mint…
A version of this warm, minty green was originally custom-mixed for Layla.  It ended up being the perfect green to add to our subtle European colour collection.

say hello to Marzipan…
Named for the delicious almond paste famous in Germany, Marzipan is an equally delicious warm neutral.  It’s an off-white with beige and warm gray undertones. It pairs beautifully with Ironstone for a subtle contrast.

say hello to schloss…
This rich, stone color is named Schloss, the German word for castle.  It’s warmer and richer than Trophy, making it the “greige” that our customers have been asking for!

say hello to Mora…
Mora is named for the famous curvy clocks made in Mora, Sweden.  It is a whisper of a color – a neutral with gray, blue and green undertones.
Soooo Fun.

Painting Workshop - MMSMP

Welcome to my new workshop space.

I have been busy clearing a room at the Barn and re-creating an area that we can do our workshops in.  What a process !!
I really like the results.
Fresh and beautiful.

The chalk board is empty...
but have no fear, it will soon post the upcoming workshops
In Fact, the first workshop will be painting a chalkboard that you can personalize and take home, along with learning milk paint 101.

All of the European Colours are in stock.
Move quickly though...they sell fast.

The new space is going to be perfect to host our painting classes.
I am so excited to get started.

My new sample board.

Signage

The Barn sits back off the road a bit and there are trees that are forever getting bigger.
So I am forever trying to add things to catch your eye as you drive by.
(it is crazy for me to think I have been doing this almost 9 years now !)

The words VINTAGE and JUNK are my newest "eye catchers."

I was tired of searching for the perfect letter or sign so I just free-handed my own sign one Sunday afternoon. I like the combination and I hope the word Vintage and or Junk will bring newbies into the shop.

The road is still on the other side of a small pond, but this is the view in between the trees.

It would be enough to catch my eye anyway...
The goal is to have someone notice and pass it on to friend's..."have you been in that old Barn on Bunker Lake Blvd... it is full of Vintage find's... we should go."

The Goal... get people talking... Get people stopping.

So spread the word and we'll see you all soon.

I'm getting excited about some family time over Easter weekend.

Layer it on. Change it up.

Time for a refresh. Have you ever looked at an area in your house and thought I am done looking at that mess.   Or maybe it's just time...
