set your table

Vintage love at the Barn.
This is the time of year we are planning graduations, receptions, showers and just plain ole' dinner parties with friends.  Let me show you some fun goodies to help your table look fabulous with a little bit of paper.  Yep, you heard right....PAPER.

The table cover....large over sized silverware printed on recycled paper rolls.

The paper is also shown hanging from my tree over the table.

How fun is that

Of course, I have so much stuff on the table it is hard to see, but it is the funkiest paper table cover EVER.  Trust me.

mix in some great linens....
funky silverware molds...

paper rosette cake plate servers... set your yummy treats right on the paper and then throw when it's time to clean up.

One good thing, it's a good day to shop.
See you at the Barn.

summer

Summer.

We are longing for summer up here in Minnesota.
We have long forgotten about spring.

I am excited to share with you a sneak peek of Matthew Mead's new Summer Magazine
~just out for 2011.  If you didn't get a chance to see the first Holiday issue, printed last Christmas season, you are in for a pleasant surprise.

It is done so tastefully, so simple, SO Fresh....

The photography is over the top.
His use of color... and non-color is clean and refreshing.
The paper is high quality...too die for supreme.
No advertisements within the copy. None.

Linda uses my favorite colors for summer...

Stormy Monday

The show goes on.

We wont talk about theft, the B word or professionalism.
We'll just continue on as before.
However, I would like to say, I am overwhelmed by the support and kindness you all sent via your comments and emails.  Some have experienced this type of violation first hand, others just plain understand how hurtful it is when something you cherish is taken from you.
Thank you, again.

The show goes on.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's day weekend. I am still wondering what happened to March and April .... May 9th already...

I love the new vine shown here on the step ladder....
nature, come on in

terracotta primitive pots

vintage drawers make great display trays.

I need your help

Good morning everyone.

I need your help.  The junking community in very small.

In fact, we could all keep each other in business for years to come.
So, I am asking if anyone out there has seen my things at any sales OR if you have purchased my things at any recent sales.  You see we have had theft at the ole' Barn.  It PISSES me off to no end.
I was going thru. pictures the other day and found pictures of MY things and decided to do this post.

1. in the first picture - hand painted vintage chair

2. this hand painted vintage chair AND its partner, a matching hand painted vintage chair

3.  the hand painted chicken picture shown above
4. again the white and black chair
5. the wooden trunk  - shown above (heavy)
6. not shown but a bike with flat tires and remnants of snow and moss
(white paint, black paint, yellow paint and again white paint)

7.  in the background Large white metal architectural wheel

very large and heavy.
white with rust
5 - 6 feet across

8.  in the background / large vintage frame
its larger then it looks in this picture 3x4.5 feet, very sturdy
... probably expensive....I know I paid a lot for it

heirloom vintage

I have been telling you for about 2 - 3 months now that I am revamping my jewelry area.... the boutique within the Barn.... my Vogue space.   Well I"m at it again... phase 3. Or maybe it's phase 4.  As the months pass I have lost track. I know my goal was to have it done before I left for Atlanta on my buying trip... geez.... that was January.

May is also a good time for a goal... so on Sunday, when it was Freezing cold here, and it was a slow afternoon, I got started.  In order to move a large piece of furniture from one side of the Barn to the other.... my couch needed to move.... it usually means tearing down and moving 2 - 3 vignetted areas, which means at least a couple of hours of work.

I moved and tore apart two areas, and then cleaned out the vignette were the couch was housed... called Mr. Miller....moving man.... and we repositioned the couch on the other side of the Barn AND then tried to put the original 2 areas back in order.... all new and refreshed.
  ALL TOO FUN!!!
It's what we all love to do.... I'm lucky because I have a whole Barn full of toys to play with..... enjoy.

you can see how I needed Mr Miller... moving man... to help get her across the shop.  She's not super heavy, but way over sized.

I still am lovin' this green.
I found a sweater this color at J Crew.... heaven.

This clutch... too die for!

grasshoppers...just in / for your garden
made from old window weights

love the couch....

4th issue ~ Jeanne dArc Living

The summer issue
Jeanne dArc Living 4th issue

Oh how I wish it was summer here....notice that I no longer long for Spring, I have gone past Spring, I'm going right for Summer-time!  Doesn't the picture above just grab you. Just when i think I am over the galvanized metals and zincs. I see something like this and I make that sucking-in-of-air noise.

It still does something for me when paired with flowers and the garden.
