Thousands of women and a few men attended this year's North Oaks Charity Home Tour. Set up was Thursday (they allowed 6 hours to unload and set up) and then the tour was all day Friday and Saturday. On Monday, I return to pack up... not looking forward to that...I am officially exhausted. I keep telling myself it is for charity...for the children, it is okay to be exhausted.
Every designer was told to bring a sign...and that they should stay in the room during the tour in case folks had questions.... fun, but exhausting. I did manage to sell most of the big pieces which will get picked up on Monday...less for me to pack :-)
Designing and styling a room for someone else can get kind of tricky at times, but with this project, I had free will to do whatever I wanted. No input from the home owner. Just my thoughts. My vision. My creation. Boy, did I have fun!!
The room it self was beautiful. Open, high ceilings, well lit and best of all, neutral colors.
I had the home owners take out everything except the bed, the two night stands and the dresser. Everything else shown I brought in. Either from the store or from my home. I had to add a few touches of me, from my personal collection of goodies, that I showcase at home.
For the room itself, since it is the master bedroom, I tried to keep a touch of romance going.
The bed, I did with the raw elements that I have fallen in love with over the last couple of years.
I handed out tons of cards for both my design consultation and for the store. Many of the people that went through didn't realize that the Barn was only 20 - 25 minutes away.

you can't have a romantic boudoir without a little couture
put a little log on the fire....or just dress the logs
This room also has a wonderful deck with a grand view of the lake below. I couldn't resist putting a rusty chair and a sweet cherub on display peeking in.
Because the house was nestled in the woods and sat on a lake, I had to bring a little nature indoors. The white swans were the perfect fit.
I decided to stop here...so many pictures. I also had the pleasure of decorating the master bath. I will edit those pictures and post soon. I feel like I have been away from the store for days....well, I actually have, so I need to go spend some quality time with my shop and my Very patient husband.

You did a great job. Loved the bed. Also, loved the little trees in the little urns. Jan
HOLY CRAP!! You did a fantastic job, Lori! I am loving everything...the "see you at 8" is so fun - what a neat touch. Now, go and drink a bottle of wine. Take care! Andrea
