the water closet

the wc / bath

Last month we received some yellow flowers... not lemon, but a good yellow with mustard undertones... and some funky metal flowers in at the Barn.  I had mentioned i was going to do one of the bathrooms at home with that accent.  I know these photos are long over due.... but what's a girl to say... better late then never.

The walls are grey. The door and cabinet... plain Jane Oak underneath my distressing paint job.
The cabinet top a quick pre-cut granite from the Home Depot.

a touch of my new yellow accent color

the metal shelf is also a fun touch....I love the holes in the back

this lovely metal measuring container needed a home and so did the boys tube of shaving cream..

some fun knobs from Anthro

a shot of the door.... many layers of paint to mimic a vintage wood door

my favorite shower curtain... also Anthro

and the new rug.... with the perfect yellow color

I'm sure you recognize many Barn items... but you know, I only purchase things for the Barn that I want for my own self.... I am my best client!  Just ask Mr. Miller....

love the new towel.... Anthro.... I am starting to sound like I am their best client also...

.... busy, busy weekend at the Barn.
The sun was out all day Saturday and we were hopping!
I feel like I need some time off and it is only Monday.
Oh boy, not a good way to start the week...
Stay tuned lots of good stuff to show you this week

... I didn't want to leave you without my trusty weather note...
12" - 20" of snow coming for us.
I do believe I am quite sick of the snow!  I'll let you know...

one.two.three.

Snap your fingers and one. two. three. it's Friday again...
The good news is the heat is back on at the Barn... as of yesterday.
It is so funny how many people came in yesterday and mentioned the heat not working... everyone keeps a close eye on me, which is sooo nice!
My sweet blogger friends and loyal customers - Love ya!

I love a good stack of vintage cases....

my sweet little guys are discontinued from the manufacturer...
so this is it... I wanted to make sure they had a blog-viewing before they are gone.

pillows with numbers and fun spring towels just in

I think I like the crate best... but that's just me...

I hope you all have big plans for the first weekend in March.

Yipee! I am so glad Feb. is over ... all tho. they are saying another big snow storm is on the way Mon. or Tuesday.... 12" - 18" of snow!!! Oh well, that just means we better ENJOY the weekend before it comes. Gather your Pinot and a pan of brownies and live a little.

farmer's market

I am in the mood this morning for a little splash of color.
Yellow
This little splash just makes me smile
And makes me feel warm.
Yesterday it was so cold, I think -6 degrees when I got up. But .... when I got to the Barn later in the day the furnaces were not working... click-click-click that is the sound of my teeth chattering.  Normally it is chilly in the Barn, even with the furnaces working.  But yesterday it was freezing....the customers were commenting that you could almost see your breath.  I had my normal 3 shirts and a sweater, fingerless gloves and a scarf, but that was no where near enough to keep me warm.

click-click-click I was in the need of the yellow tulips.

I pray to God that the furnaces are fixed and putting out the warm air by the time I get there today. Actually, I hope it is working this am so my mom, who opens for me today, doesn't freeze to death.

new metal tags just in... fresh spring sayings...
something new for your pots, your bottles or your packages from my friend, Sue Wolfe.

they are good sized.... 2 - 5 " long

Enjoy...

European Love

Just in from over seas.
Love it when the goods come in from Europe.
They are always so fun, but don't get me wrong, it comes with hassles quite often.
Getting things through customs takes awhile.
This shipment I am missing 1/2 my goods and my contact person is in Germany...She might get back to me in a few days... which means more phone tag...Ugh. It's the price I pay to get some fun, unique finds at the Barn.

metal buckets...heavy with a great pour spout.
vintages military shovels...
German watering cans...ex long spout.

so fun shown on my garden table filled with greens...

one of these beauty's will adorn my front walk

...and these military shovels...

galvanized cake lift and a cute grass vase

this wild lavender is too die for...I have caught many guests smelling it...

can't wait to get some home to fill all my white pitchers

the burlap pillow has just enough purple in it's pattern to flow with the lavender

sorry I can not ship the large buckets or shovels ...too big and too heavy.

I am a little more organized with my posts this week ... meaning, I actually have them done, so you will see more of me.  Thirty degrees today  ")   but they are talking more cold and a big storm later this week.  Now that it is March ... there is hope in sight.... come on SUN.

Layer it on. Change it up.

Time for a refresh. Have you ever looked at an area in your house and thought I am done looking at that mess.   Or maybe it's just time...
