Prim & Proper in mustard seed yellow

Every once in a while I make it to Market to do my buying for the shop.
I say every once in a while, because my full time - day job often gets in the way of travel.

However, once in while, I make it AND find something that makes my heart sing.

That is my goal... to find one or two things that are not just filler... something that stands out... something that makes me go GA-GA when I see the line...

This line is one of those !!

I had a GA-GA moment.

the look, the feel, the colors !!

I love this rich mustard yellow... and the cute polka dots... and the bows ...and the linen !
 Are you kidding me !

the tea towels are the softest Linen.
The bags are travel bags.

I am one that loves to display at home ... imagine that... when i bought these two bags I couldn't just put them in the closet and wait to go on a trip... oh NO.

My small bag sits on the bedside table and holds some hidden Kleenex. In case I need one at night ... this also gets rid of that awful box.... right.
The larger bag, I stuffed full and square and display it on my bed as a pillow along with my other throw pillows.

SO Cute.

It also helps that my colors in my bedroom are Gray and a soft mustard yellow.

These side plates... So fun with the whimsical polka dots... hand thrown by our local Potter, Miss Kate

Lola - famous for a day

Lola, adorned for the show.

In the beginning, I would schlep many prop items to the show knowing they were not for sale.
Now-a-days... not so much.

I did, however, decide to dress Lola and bring him along for effect.

( I know he is a boy, but I choose to call him Lola... this does not sit well with my mom).

Lola was photographed... I swear, hundreds of times on Thursday and then again on Friday. I got so tired of the photographs that I hung a business card on one of the antlers.

They then started photographing just one side of his face.

So frustrating.!!!
On Saturday, I decided to put a card in the crown and beside Lola.

Funny... the photos completely stopped after that.

When you start to see Lola appear on pinterest...
well, at least you will know it is Lola from the Round Barn Potting co

On another note... the 14 " of snow from Wednesday is finally gone.
Ugh. - hopefully the last time.

I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter.

This little baby shoe was painted with Miss mustard Seed's milk paint..

Our next workshops are

Junk Bonanza ~ 2014

It has come and it has gone.

I have been doing a booth at Junk Bonanza for years...
every year, when I am preparing, I am super excited...
At the end, I am exhausted, and I say " never again "

It is a 3 day event, but for me it is a 7 - 9 day ordeal.

2 - 4 days of pre-bonanza.
... last minute buying, tagging, painting and packing.
Then there is a day of boxing, wrapping - preparing for departure.
A day of  hauling everything to the curb, hauling everything into the truck, hauling everything out of the truck, then set-up, staging ! Staging ! Staging!

Finally, a finished project. Joy and excitement.
5 days of work and exhaustion and we haven't even started the EVENT.

3 long days of selling.
selling... hauling
and at the end of the 3rd day...
haul everything that didn't sell back to the truck ...load.... drive back to the Barn...unload !!  Now my Barn is a complete mess... SO NOW... I get to work another day putting the Barn back together...
 Good Lord

And the entire time... I am on vacation (from my real job) VACATION !!  Who in their right mind ....

Lola was photographed at least 600 times.
I am sure you will see Lola floating around on pinterest

We always try for a French inspired theme...

Linda brought some Fabulous Furniture pieces ....
all painted with the Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint.

The yellow chest was the first to sell

my French Poem wall drape was fabulous behind all of Linda's french themed dressers

The ironstone piece was so sweet

sold. sold. sold.

This is Timothy, I found him for my collection.

You can visit Lola, Wilma and now Timothy at the Barn !!

I have more photos to come...
check out Facebook also...

Off I go to the barn... see you soon.

Layer it on. Change it up.

Time for a refresh. Have you ever looked at an area in your house and thought I am done looking at that mess.   Or maybe it's just time...
