Summer entertaining

The best thing about summer is the outdoor entertaining. So far this year we have had a smaller amount of bugs in the evening. Thank goodness. Last evening when friends stopped by, I actually swatted my first mosquito. To sit outside without those little guys allows the evening to go on and on. None of the fast cleanup and dash for in doors. I'm getting ready for the open house but I needed a much deserved break, so I'm squeezing in a fast post.

I stopped down in Carver to see my friends Jane and Cindi and my new friend Cheryl. I found these fun chair carcasses for the store. Oh they'll make a great display in the Fall with pumpkins and scary rats... oh no, I'm getting ahead of myself. They may be gone by August...anyway, they look great in the store right now. Thanks Jane. Check them out.

Vintage flower pot or used as a lift on the table for dishes.

New bistro set. Brown metal chairs. Love. Lanette, from Cottage Elements, brought them in.

I gave this old book shelve some new life. Painted it white...it was blue... and then moved it to a new glamorous spot.

eggs instead of ice...

I love this old metal sign. It would look so good over the couch or in the dining room.
Urban - repurposed art.
The new Round Barn Potting Company Chic.
Break time is over. Back to getting the place ready for the Open House this Thursday.
I'll post lots of pictures for those of you who can't make it.

Can it be...

Oh my gosh, can it be Father's day already? How do the days pass so quickly. I guess time truly does fly when you are having fun. The month of June starts my third year of owning the Round Barn Potting Company. The world of retail is one crazy business. Stressful? Yes, only because of the economy and sales are down a little from the previous years. I've been told I need to get cheaper items and carry less inventory...Ugh! I can't do it! That is not who I am. I can't lower my standards and frankly, as my friends and customers, I don't think you would appreciate it. How can we decorate our space with crap...the answer, we can't. So I'll keep on doing what I do and you keep coming to see me, and we'll all have fun and live happily ever after....Father's Day....wow! All you dads out there...happy to you!

New cabinet. Came in unexpectedly....but I love white. Looks great with all my goods from Denmark.

White pottery candle holders.

I was going to wait to put out my new Christmas book from Denmark, Jul - Jeanne d' Arc Living by Lonnie Wurtz Jensen and Vivian Christensen. I thought I'd get a little closer to Christmas time, but I had so many people asking for it... So, out it came.

these new pots look great with my burlap ribbon roles... oh, what fun

a little peak inside the book

you're going to love it... trust me. L

My Space

I took a ton of pictures of my space at home...inside, outside, front yard, backyard...all over the place. I decided, in the end, to only post a select few. One, I'm trying to get ready for my open house / garden tour ~ Girls night out, which is next week already.
So I don't have the time to load and sort all the pictures. Two, I really want to just tease you guys, because I want you to come see me next week and not be disappointed when you get here.

you'll notice a white and purple thing going on

I ordered a ton of these pots; unfortunately, only one was delivered to the shop. When I called the company I was told they had been discontinued!!! Can you believe it! I was so disappointed, I could have sold a bunch...they are beautiful. I was then told I was lucky to receive the one lone pot. I guess I am thankful...and greedy, because I definitely kept it for my own self. :0)

Love the peony

Next Thursday, the 25th of June.... I am so excited

Layer it on. Change it up.

Time for a refresh. Have you ever looked at an area in your house and thought I am done looking at that mess.   Or maybe it's just time...
