the newest creations

The newest creations hit the streets last weekend at a vendor market I did.
The vintage market was the first I have done since I closed the shop.

It was so exciting to build a vignette and sell my wares.

( I will blog about it next)

These little creations I started working on late summer.
1. design the image (photo shop)
2. find the wood and cut to size (Mr M helped)
3. paint and distress
4. decoupage image
5. drill hole (Mr M helped)
6. distress and add glitter
7. tear fabric and string

A long process for sure.
Since Mr M had a hand in making them, he was sure to tell me that "none of these are going to sell" and "I don't know why we are wasting our time"

You know what happens when I hear something like that!!!
Oh YEAH - it was on.

The Holly Jolly Market was a two and a half day event.

It was so much fun seeing the crowds and so many of my old customers and friends that stopped by to say hi and support my business. It really warmed my heart AND I want to extend another big Thank You to you all!
… you know who I'm talking about.

and back to Mr M ...I sold 65 of these cute little ornaments
$7 each

I didn't sell out like I had hoped, but I sold more then half.
We made quite a few... probably a hundred.

the Joy to the world and Merry Christmas are made from my farmhouse sheep photo.
They were both very popular but the red ornament and the mouse were by far the most popular.

choose kindness is also a favorite of mine

They can all be hung on the tree, hung on a gift or placed as a shelf sitter.

These are easy to ship...
I'm not sure what is left in stock or if we can make more due to the weather, but if you are interested e mail me
loriatthebarn@ymail.com

It has been a while since I have bogged, but I finally feel like my life is slowing down again and I can get back at it.

IG is quick and easy and I have tried to keep things steady on that front but it's just not the same.

I'm glad to be back and we will leave it at that!!

Crossbody Bag hits the streets

Have I told you I love black & white stripes and polka dots.

I do!
I love black & white stripes and polka dots AND when you pair them together you get a Lori Miller bag all mashed up together.

The tote bags went over well and we are still in production with them, but we heard over and over that a crossbody bag was what everyone wanted.

So here we go

hello darlin
the Cow is by far the most liked.

All of the bags have a large tablet sized pocket inside and are fully lined.

My farmhouse Sheep is adorable!!
The Crossbody bags are 14"x 13"x 3"
The strap is close to 22"

Did I tell you I love polka dots!

hahahaha

All bags shipped for free in November in the US

Thank you for stopping and supporting local businesses and artists

A touch of spook

I love to mix some seasonal with my everyday vintage look.

The coffee station is a good spot for a little sprinkle of spook.

These darling spiders and mice are just the perfect touch for Halloween.

These funny little mice with the bottle brush tales are some of my favorites.

Even though I hate spiders with a passion.
Actually, I am terrified of them and will run the other direction when I see one.

These little metal ones on chains - Perfect for dangling on any-old-thing.  How can you not like these little guys at this time of year.

They look good in a grouping, hanging out by their chains at different lengths.  I think they fit right in with my collection of Vintage M's. I really don't think of myself as a person who collects... but I do have a few things that catch my eye, and when placed in a grouping, make it look as if I am a collector...

Who am I trying to kid... I collect M's!!
and this is as good a place as any to display them.

I hope you have a touch of spook to display at your house.

Farmhouse series BAGS - For Sale

Hello Goatgeous.
One thing on my bucket list, for the last few years, has been to master a sewing machine.

I mentioned this new sewing idea recently to one of my sisters, and she offered to give me the machine sitting in her closest.  It is the most basic, of basic machines, but when one is teaching one's self to sew... basic is music to my ears.

I tried... I failed... I then recruited my mom for help... and after 10 minutes !!
Voila`! Yippee!
Thank You Mom!
I am a sewer.

I love black and white stripes and black and white polka-dots, so with that in mind, the bags were born.

I also fell in love with the lining... greys and pinks!

I was fortunate to find all of the material I used at Hobby Lobby.
One stop. In and out.
That's how I like to roll.
If you know me, once I have something in my head, look out... stand back!!

This is my sheep bag
Can you stand how cute it is.

All of the bags are similar, but then again slightly different.
The hello Goatgeous bag comes in black, but the hello Farmhouse comes in two choices, tan and black.

The back of the bag is adorned with a pocket.. hopefully large enough to hold a cell phone.

Right now I am trying to keep up with orders.
I am selling them locally and shipping them out as fast as my little fingers can go.
$48
Locally you can find them at
LBC - Junk Market
Tafoya Salon

Farmhouse series

The farmhouse series is set to go.
I just received the first batch from the printer and they turned out so CUTE.
Our new line is all about the love of
Farmhouse and Vintage style.

They are postcard style.
Perfect for all occasions... little thank you's or quick hand written notes.
.

Frame them.
Get inspiration form them.
smile at them.
share them.
love them.

Too fun.
They each come with a funky envelope.
The back of each card shows the silverware faded, so you can barely see it.
It adds a little drama to the back, but you can easily write your notes over it.
These are are four out of seven in the series.

For wholesale information OR if you want to purchase a few cards outright, for yourself, email me at loriatthebarn@ymail.com

They are also available in bigger prints / Canvas Art

Spring designs

It's one of those days.
Spring is actually not right around the corner, like it is for some of you.  We have a good two months before buds are blooming and the threat of snow is gone.  Tonight and tomorrow they are saying 8" - 16" of snow.
 Oh Well.

We have had it easy, we have had four days of teasingly warm weather, which makes me dream of Spring.  I was playing on the computer this morning...I tell Mr. Miller that I am Working on my computer...

Creating isn't really work, but productivity is considered work to him, and as I was feeling very productive... a good days work it will be.

I am really into black and white these days so I decided to start with a chalkboard background.

The one shown above and my Farmer's Market are the two I like the best.

What do you think....
-something for the wall
- card design
- a pillow cover

love. love. love.

Layer it on. Change it up.

Time for a refresh. Have you ever looked at an area in your house and thought I am done looking at that mess.   Or maybe it's just time...
